PK-3 Credential Application Checklist

Step 1

Applications

• Applicants are required to attend an Information Workshop prior to applying to the credential program.

• Complete CAL STATE Apply Application

• NOTE: Candidates who are currently a Post Bac student and are attending SSU to complete credential program pre-requisite courses or who are enrolled in a Stateside MA program do NOT need to complete Cal State. Contact the Credentials & Graduate Admissions Office at credentials.office@sonoma.edu for specialized instructions on applying to the program,

NOTE: Please review the program requirements as there are TWO required prerequisite courses for admission into the Multiple Subject Program. 

Step 2

Statement of Purpose

Subject Matter Competency

Step 4

Verification of Pre-Program Field Experience

• Field Experience Form
• Refer to Preliminary Credential Program Application Pre-Program Field Experience

Step 5

Transcripts from each institution attended

• One set of OFFICIAL transcripts sent to SSU's Admissions & Records Office
• Candidates do NOT need to provide an official set of SSU Transcripts. Please attach an unofficial set of SSU transcripts to your application.

Step 6

Letters of Recommendation

• Two professional letters of recommendation required.
• Refer to Preliminary Credential Program Application Letters of Recommendation

Step 7

Certificate of Clearance (CofC)

• 7A: Get Fingerprinted: Complete Live Scan Form. Bring completed form to a live scan operator. Keep copy of form once you have been fingerprinted in order to complete following step.
• 7B: Apply for CofC with CTC. Submit CofC, or verification that CofC is in process of being issued. Do NOT submit the Live Scan Form.

TB Clearance

Legal Seminar

• Complete and Submit Legal Seminar
