Redwood Coast K-16 Educational Collaborative

The Redwood Coast K-16 Education Collaborative launched in 2022 as part of the California Regional K-16 Education Collaboratives Grant Program. A partnership between Cal Poly Humboldt, Sonoma State University, UC Davis, ProjectAttain!, and offices of education, the K-16 Collaborative is working to increase higher education access for underrepresented students in Del Norte, Humboldt, Mendocino, and Lake counties. The Collaborative is committed to advancing educational equity and workforce opportunities by strengthening college and career pathways across California’s Northern Coastal Region.

Our Goals

With student success as its core objective, the Collaborative is focused on achieving these specific outcomes:

  • Increasing the number of graduates with post-secondary degrees in high-growth, high-wage disciplines that will meet the region’s economic and labor needs, particularly in healthcare and education markets
  • Reducing disparities among historically underrepresented populations in degree attainment
  • Improving graduation rates and shortening the time of completion rates of post-secondary education
  • Utilizing Recovery with Equity strategies, as outlined by CDE, to reduce effects of the pandemic on all students, particularly those in underserved communities
