Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Nigeria Cole brings a diverse background in education, project management, and student success to the College of Education, Counseling, and Ethnic Studies. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida before beginning her career as a K–12 educator. She later transitioned into project management within the technology industry, most recently serving at TikTok, before returning to higher education to pursue her passion for student success and educational equity. Nigeria also earned an MBA in Wine Business from Sonoma State University, where she combined her interests in leadership, strategy, and advancing diversity within the beverage industry. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to creating welcoming, inclusive environments and expanding opportunities for historically underrepresented students. She previously served as an SSU Umoja Queens mentor and as a Board Member of Sonoma State's Black Faculty and Staff Association. Outside of work, Nigeria enjoys traveling, discovering new restaurants, and working part-time in luxury hospitality while supporting nonprofit organizations dedicated to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the wine and spirits industry.
