Project Team and Collaborators

Transforming teacher preparation, especially in ways that address patterns of inequity, is a collective effort. Teacher preparation problems can only fully implement the “what” and “how” of preparing teachers through a commitment to bridging the frequently siloed work of university content method educators, university language/literacy educators, school site mentor teachers, and the families of emergent bilinguals being taught. Collaboration across these critical communities of practice results in an ‘ecosystem of support’ for preservice teacher preparation to improve instruction for emergent bilingual learning in a more durable and contextualized manner.  - BCAIP Project Proposal
